NAI-SCAPE Joint Seminar: Closing the Small Open Economy Model: A Demographic Approach

NAI co-hosted a seminar on “Closing the Small Open Economy Model: A Demographic Approach“, in partnership with the Singapore Centre for Applied and Policy Economics (SCAPE) at the National University of Singapore on August 5th, 2015.

The seminar featured Stephen Turnovsky,  the Ford and Louisa Van Voorhis Professor of Economics at the University of Washington.  The author of several books and journal articles on macroeconomic dynamics and growth, Professor Turnovsky’s research interests in fiscal policy issues include closed and open economies, infrastructure, and inequality.

Professor Turnovsky is a past President of both the Society of Economic Dynamics and Control and the Society for Computational Economics.  He has previously taught courses on advanced macroeconomics, macroeconomic analysis, and economic growth.

Professor Chia Ngee Choon, NAI co-director chaired the seminar.
